This is excellent. I remain profoundly disappointed that the two most accepted creeds in the Christian tradition, the Nicene and Apostles, do not contain the word love.
Thanks for this. I’ve a friend who also argues that Jesus just should have been clear about the gospel so that we wouldn’t have to figure it out for ourselves, but I’ve come to the conclusion that maybe that is actually the good news of the gospel - that we’ve each got to figure this out for ourselves and by trying to shortcut the process, we start living other by peoples standards rather than our own, and in doing so create idols out of them.
I kind of want to argue about the details of most of your top ten, but that would be rude, and anyway, it would be somewhat contrary to what I said above.
